a funny timeout

The girls had a very busy weekend.  On Friday night they stayed at their Auntie Becky's house with us and played with their cousins Kennedy, Riley and Tanner.  Then on Saturday night they had the great pleasure of spending the night at their Auntie Kate's house for Zadie's birthday party (thanks Kate and Tori)!!!!  Lots of fun cousin time this weekend and they are flat-out exhausted.  Sophie was very crabby because she was so tired.  After her bath, I was getting into my pajamas and she hit Isabelle twice in the back pretty hard.  Then she said, "I like to hit people."  I told her she needed to go to timeout for hitting and for making that comment.  I was still in my underwear beause I hadn't finished getting my pajama pants on, so I walked her to her room half-dressed.  I put her on her bed and as I was closing her bedroom door, she said, "I like your panties, Mom!!!"  HA!  Normally, I am very annoyed when I am putting the kids in timeout because they have done something wrong, but that made me laugh out loud.

Another funny thing that happened tonight is that Isabelle was playing around with her pillow and making a pretend bed, etc.  I saw her struggling with her pillow for a while, and finally she hopped over to the couch with her legs inside the pillowcase.  She said, "Remember at the Easter egg hunt last year, kids were hopping around in pillowcases like this?  That's what I'm trying to do."  I had to laugh because she had failed to remove the pillow from the pillowcase.  No wonder she was having such a hard time!  :)
